Meet our UK management team.

Ian Dowds
Vice President, UK

Ian Dowds joined Specific Media in February 2009 as UK Vice President and is responsible for Specific Media’s UK sales operations.

Prior to Specific Media, Ian worked for four years at Turner Media Innovations where he was Sales Director. There, he was responsible for driving advertising, sponsorship, online and new media for a range of media properties as well as negotiating all UK airtime deals.

Before joining TMi, Ian served as Managing Partner at MindShare for four years where he ran the TV planning and buying for a number of clients including Kellogg’s and “3”.

Ian studied English & French literature at York University. He is currently studying an MBA with the Open University and received a Post Graduate certificate in Business Administration in 2006.

Martin Tingle
Regional Advertising Director

Martin Tingle joined Specific Media in March 2009 as Regional Advertising Director. He is responsible for developing Specific Media in Manchester to meet growing advertising demand in the regional market for a plethora of agencies outside the M25.

Prior to Specific Media, Martin was digital sales manager at Media Sales Network. Tingle developed existing businesses, created and managed creative solutions, multiplatform and cross media campaigns. During his 10 years at Media Sales Network, Martin was Senior Sales Executive for Emap/ Bauer Magazines, which included titles such as FHM & Heat.

Martin has a BA (Hons) Degree in Business and Finance from the Manchester Metropolitan University.

Adam Pattison
Group Agency Director

Adam joined Specific Media in July 2008 before moving into the role of Group Agency Manager in October. In January 2009, Adam became Group Agency Director responsible for the sales and account teams across WPP Group, Havas Group, SMV Group and UM Interactive, as well as several independent agencies and direct business.

Before joining Specific Media, Adam was Sales Director at global affiliate network, zanox, where he was responsible for client direct RFP processes and new business wins.

Adam started his media career at Haymarket Business working across a broad range of titles in the ‘Marketing Group’ such as Marketing Direct, Promotions and Incentives and Revolution.

Louise Briggs
Group Agency Director

Louise Briggs has been with Specific Media since May 2006, progressing to the role of Group Agency Director in January 2009. Louise is responsible for guiding her sales team on new business strategies and all aspects of account management.

Prior to this Louise worked at the JMS Group – an Independent Radio Production Company – in Copywriting and Account Management. In 2003, Louise became Head of Studio Resources implementing a range of growth and business improvement strategies.

Louise has a BA (Hons) in Spanish from the University of Bradford and a Diploma in Hispanic Studies from ‘La Universitat de Barcelona’.

Melanie Marshall
Group Agency Director

Melanie has been with Specific for four years and has advanced her role from Account Executive to Group Agency Director.

Melanie’s role is to drive UK sales to achieve company growth. She also manages strong relationships with agencies and ensures Specific Media stays at the top in customer service. Melanie has been instrumental to Specific Media’s growth, managing and growing a team of four to seven.

Prior to Specific Media, Melanie worked two years with Virgin Atlantic as part of their Cabin Crew and Customer Relations team.

Melanie graduated with a BA in English Literature from University of Warwick.

Geisla de Souza
Director of Ad Operations

Geisla de Souza is Director of Ad Operations at Specific Media. She is responsible for the UK Delivery and Trafficking Team and leads a team of 12.

Geisla began her career in ad operations in 2000 at FT.com (Financial Times) and then went on to run her own Ad Operations team at CBS Interactive (Formerly CNET Networks UK) in 2005. Over the years Geisla has participated in the IAB Ad Operations Working Groups and various Industry Groups, setting and establishing best practises and standards within online advertising. Geisla has also run training sessions for the Digital Academy and Ad Monsters Group, for Ad Operations Individuals and Teams.

Sally Price
Publisher Services Account Director

Sally Price is the Publisher Services Account Director for Specific Media UK, managing the Media Buying team in this market.

Sally joined the company in early 2006 and is responsible for overseeing the buying and planning process for the Network client base to continue the development of the UK’s premium Publisher network. Additional responsibilities include managing UK premium partners, delivering successful implementation of the Publisher Services strategy and working to facilitate the network’s continued quality and success. Sally brings to Specific Media valuable market insights from her previous roles within Red Bull and David Lloyd where she worked on developing their marketing and sales strategies.

Originally from Melbourne Australia, Sally studied Business Marketing at ACU.

Karina Kelly
European Development Manager

Karina Kelly, European Development Manager of Specific Media, joined the company in November 2008. Karina's role is to develop pan European Business relationships with both the International agency divisions and direct clients across Europe.

Prior to joining Specific Media, Karina worked four years with Shopzilla Inc. where she developed the German market building relationships with the biggest retail brands in Germany. In total, Karina has more than nine years of international business experience, holding positions at ITT Industries and Lorom Industrial.

Karina holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics, with a major in Marketing, International Management and Tourism, from the University of Applied Science Stralsund, Germany.
