Specific Media Extends European Presence with Expansion into Norway
Online advertising network brings world-class technology and customer service to Oslo's advertising and publishing communities
London, UK – 6 October 2009 – Specific Media, the leading independent online advertising network, today announced its expansion into Norway. The opening of its Oslo office follows Specific Media's launch in Denmark in March 2009 and is in line with the company's growth strategy for Northern Europe.
Three senior hires will underpin the move into the Norwegian market. Andrč Smedsrud will head the new office, bringing nearly fifteen years experience in performance based advertising networks. Andre was educated in business at BI Oslo, Norway's leading business school. Since he started working in the online environment in 1995 he has worked with several industry leading companies such as Scandinavia Online and Publicis Interactive. He also founded advertising network Dayrates.com, which was later acquired by Advertising.com, as well as Popsil.com.
Alongside Smedsrud, Dagfinn Melberg will manage publisher services. He has over a decade's media buying experience from Advertising.com where he headed the publishing department. Prior to that, Melberg held a similar position at Doubleclick in Norway.
Stein Ole Jensen will join the Norway team as sales executive. Jensen was one of the top sales executives at AOL Advertising Norway, before working for a number of outdoor media and consulting companies.

In the next few months Specific Media Norway hopes to expand further, with three new hires planned. The initial plan is to increase sales staff, with a view to recruiting an account manager in the near future.
Smedsrud added, "With an office already established in Denmark, the Oslo branch was a natural choice for expansion in Scandinavia. We hope to further build on Specific Media's presence in the Nordic region and create a valuable offering. In short, we're all hugely excited by the potential of this region."
